Bacteria on hands and how it can be transferred
During the Spring term, Tropical fish have studied 'Medicine' as our main topic focus. As part of this, we looked at bacteria and microbes, focusing especially on those on our hands. We thought about whether all bacteria is harmful to us or not and why, as well as why it is so important to wash our hands regularly, especially before eating.
As part of our investigation, we covered our hands in olive oil and glitter, imagining that this was the bacteria on them. We then tried out 4 different techniques to wash the 'bacteria' off, thinking about which was most effective.
It was a fun packed, very thought provoking afternoon which we all thoroughly enjoyed. :-)
