Recently, following consultation, our Governing Body decided to adopt an asymmetric timetable from September 2024. Please find further details of our new school week below.
School will start for all children at 8.45am, Monday to Friday. They must arrive before 8.45am, so that they are in class and ready to learn at this time. Breakfast Club will run from 7.45am-8.45am. Doors will open from 8.35am for those not attending Breakfast Club. Breakfast will be served between 8am and 8.30am. Children will have a fifteen-minute break time part way through the morning, as they do currently.
Lunchtimes on Monday through to Thursday will remain as normal. Children from Nursery to Year 2, along with pupils in our Learning Resource Centre, will break for lunch at 12pm and return to class at 1pm. Children from Year 3 to 6 will break for lunch at 12.15pm and return for registration at 1pm.
On Monday to Thursday, the afternoon session for all children will begin at 1pm and continue until 3.30pm.
Taxi transport for pupils in Lifeboat Class is provided as normal on Monday through to Thursday. On Fridays, taxis will collect pupils in Lifeboat Class at the end of the school day, 1pm, unless otherwise arranged.
On Fridays, all children will break for lunch at 12pm. They will have half an hour for lunch and will eat their hot meals or packed lunches in classes. At 12.30pm registration will be taken for our short afternoon session and the children will go to the hall for their Celebration Assembly, always one of the highlights of our week. All children must attend this afternoon session until 1pm (except morning part-time Nursery pupils, who can be collected at 12pm - the end of their morning session - and afternoon Nursery pupils, who will only attend school on Mondays to Thursdays.)
Parents/ carers are encouraged to collect their children at 1pm on each Friday if they
can.
Our private pre-school provision, Tiny Treasures Playgroup, is led by Mrs Dilks. This will operate between 8.45am and 3.30pm, Monday – Thursday, consistent with the times of the day for the rest of the school. On Fridays, we intend to offer an afternoon session from 1pm until 3pm, though this will only be available if there are sufficient bookings to make the session affordable.
Free childcare provision will be available on Friday afternoons for those that need it, between 1pm and 3pm. Weekly booking links will be provided via Class Dojo – it is vital that parents book in advance, so that we can arrange adequate staffing levels for these
sessions.
Children accessing free childcare need to be collected promptly by 3pm or before.
Our Fun Zone After School Club will operate between 3 and 5.30pm on Fridays for those who need it, at a cost of £9 per session.
