Digital resilience encapsulates the need to develop knowledge, skills and strategies in order for children and young people to manage their online experience safely and responsibly, while protecting their digital identity. It is important to identify and mitigate risks in order to stay safe from harm online. At Tenby Primary we care deeply about keeping children safe, both in school and online as part of the wider world. To do this we deliver a series of online safety lessons across the school. These are taken from the Digital Citizenship scheme created by Welsh Government.
Being digitally resilient is about being able to deal with any incidents that go awry online, especially on social media. We aim to equip our pupils with the skills needed to:
Understand when they are at risk online
Know what to do and where to go to seek help
Learn from past experience and actions of both themselves and others
Recover when things do go wrong
